You will need solar eclipse glasses if you plan to view the total solar eclipse, which will be near totality when it passes over the Capital Region on Monday, April 8. Known as the Great North American Eclipse, this will be the last total eclipse viewable from the United States until Aug. 23, 2044.
Both types of glasses offered here are are certified as safe solar eclipse viewers that meet the ISO standard #12312-2 for safely viewing the sun.
